ERPGenie.COM News

Couple of things I aught to mention:

  1. We have temporarily suspended the job and resume hosting services until we are able to relaunch the new functionality. We will be doing so in the latter part of July

  2. We are reworking the entire website to make it more flexible and database driven, allowing easier searching

  3. We will also be adding a new database to the mix, namely a solutions database where we will list all ERP related 3rd party solutions available for your review

  4. Our ABAP tips and tricks database is growing like crazy so keep those tips coming

  5. When you register for ERPGenie, ABAP tips and tricks or the solutions database your user ID and password will remain the same between the databases

I'm excited about these new developments. It's been about 5 years since our last major overall and it was time to jump into the 21st century....

ASUG and SAPPHIRE 2007

Well, ASUG and SAPPHIRE have come and gone. I don't think you'll be able to find too many people that would agree if you if you thought the event was a poor display....

SAP put on an incredible show with almost zero glitches. 10/10 for presentation.

Once again, it was very interesting walking through the shark infested waters known as the "Vendor" hall where each stall has a salesman's eyes tracking you (and in particular, your ID badge) to see if you are to be labeled as a potential victim, um, I mean, customer!!!

It seemed like every stall had a free IPod drawin, except most were drawing at the end of the conference when most people were stranded at Atlanta airport, due to the storms around the country!

Needless to say, the IPods are safely in someone else's pocket but my kids did come away with some goodies.... The big hit was Esker's little luminous stick on lights. They must have made 100,000 of these things and about the same number of T-Shirts. They take the overall prize for money well spent... They can tell us if it was well spent. ;) Bouncing balls, glowing balls, shirts, .... all made the trip home.

I sat through 2 usability sessions on Redwood and Supply Chain Event Management's integration with Outlook and those were fun. They dished out some nice thank you gifts there as well.

At my talk, which seemed to be about a mile from the "Shark Tank", there were a few interested folks which I was pleased with. In addition to the talk, I was able to catch up with several colleagues of the past including Dave (Hoosie), Laurent, Brian, John, Sue, Julie, Greg, Shreekant, ... You know who you are and it was great catching up with you.

Hopefully we'll all meet again at Tech-Ed.... and then meet some new faces.

ASUG Gig this year

I have broken down and once again entered the arena of speaking at a conference.... It's been about 9 years of avoidance but I finally have a topic that of interest to me and possibly others. Supply Chain Event Management!!! A great tool hidden in SCM but can be used seamlessly across the board to integrate your disparate messages into a cohesive process chain.... I'll also be following up with more on it with an SDN blog and an article in the SCM Expert Magazine by WISPubs. Should be a fun few months...

Sponsorship in Africa

As co-founder of Genieholdings.com inc. it's always been important for me to give back to the less fortunate in our community at large. This year we have embarked on additional charitable causes through World Vision. We have taken up sponsoring 4 children on monthly case. their names are Peggy Muntanga from Zambia, Branwell Syamunda from Zambia, Ebenyo Nasilo from Kenya and Tibuyile Magongo from Swaziland.

HIV/AIDS orphans more than 6,000 children every day. Even more children are impacted and left vulnerable. World Vision has taken on the challenge of poverty and injustice.....

Who Is World Vision?

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
